Welcome to
Jawahar Kala Kendra

When Jawahar Kala Kendra was inaugurated on 8 April, 1993, it symbolized the fulfillment of a dream and the beginning of another. The new multi arts centre was perceived as the hub of arts and artistic activities and as a centre for the conjunction of the classical and the folk traditions which would in the years to come cater both to continuity and innovation.

Now, more than a decade later, it has become a centre which has the ability to create a season for all seasons. Summer, Winter and Fall see no lull in its activities. It is a ‘happenning’ place, where something or the other is always happening-drama festivals, music performances, art exhibitions, craft fairs, workshops, discussions and seminars or films and film screenings.
